Wayward Day
On this wayward day
our world again,
will be okay.
This is all,
we can believe and say.
We are not free
but we know freedom.
We are trapped,
but not forever.
We will again know,
the outside as it was before.
We will once again see,
our lovers,
our friends
our family
and all the new trends.
For now,
listen to the singing birds,
see the changing colors,
feel the approaching cold,
smell the winter blooms.
Read aloud my hopeful words,
hold on to the thought of gold
cancel out the dark that looms,
and remember what was told.
On this wayward day
our world again,
will be okay.
This is all,
we can believe and say.
