Varsity Cup has started, and it is once again time to ‘back your boytjies’. Perdeby is introducing Varsity Cup player profiles to help you get to know the rugby team a little better. The first player to be profiled is captain Jono Ross, who is currently injured but hopes to be back soon.

Position 8th man but I can play anywhere in the loose trio.

Age 22

High school St Stithians College.

Favourite food Sushi.

Hobbies: Golf and the occasional fishing (with his father)

Studying Sports Science at the University of Pretoria and Marketing at the University of South Africa

Number of years playing Varsity Cup 2013 will be his third year

Varsity Cup aspiration Successfully defending the title and playing attractive rugby

Expectations for Tuks in the Varsity Cup There is no point in competing in a competition if your goal is not to win the competition. We are very focused as a team at the moment and believe that we can go all the way in 2013.
