The UP Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Prof Tawana Kupe, has resigned from his position effective 31 July 2023.
The resignation is confirmed in a campus wide email sent out by the Chairperson of the UP Council, Kuseni Dlamini.
“The process to find his successor will begin immediately” stated the email.
Interim arrangements are to be set in place to facilitate the “smooth functioning of the institution”.
Dlamini thanked Prof Kupe for his contributions to UP during his tenure.
Prof Kupe’s term was set to conclude in January 2024. No reasons for the resignation was given.
