The University of Pretoria hosted the South African Wheelchair Rugby League final on 24 November on Groenkloof campus. Tuks clinched the match by narrowly defeating the Bullfrogs 47-43.

The win marked UP’s seventh league title since the sport was started at Tuks in 2003. The 2012 season proved to be a successful one with Tuks competing in nine out of eleven matches.

“It is really great to have beaten the Bullfrogs in this year’s final, as we lost to them in the 2011 final. Tuks has a really strong group of players and the depth at the club has helped us to be so competitive,” said Tuks wheelchair rugby player Gerhard Swarts, who is doing his Honours in Sport and Recreational Management.
