Eventually an agreement was reached and students congregated outside the Administration building. There were chants for Vice-Chancellor Prof. Cheryl de la Rey to come out to receive the memorandum.
Eventually the university sent out an official on Prof. De la Rey’s behalf, Prof. Themba Mosia, which angered students. Students were angered further when it was decided that the memorandum would be handed over to Prof. Mosia. Following this, Rasethaba, together with SRC deputy-president Luvuyo Menziwa, were allowed to enter the Administration building while the rest of the march dissipated.
It is unclear whether the memorandum was handed over to the university and the university have not yet issued a public response.
