CHARLOTTE KEURIS
As you may have discovered, the university offers a variety of restaurants and students are tempted daily with pizza, burgers and fries. Luckily, Tuks Student Gym (TSG) has special offers to keep you on the right track and fit throughout the year. There are two well-equipped gyms, one of which is located on LC de Villiers in Hall 4. The other is on the Groenkloof Campus on the first floor of the sports centre. There are various types of membership fees to suit any student’s budget. You now no longer have an excuse to be unfit this year.
The first type of membership is the cash membership, where students pay R1 000 . With this membership, you can stand a chance to win a six-month subscription to Women’s or Men’s Health magazines. Monthly prizes such as two free body assessments and two free exercise programs can be won from February until October. Free T-shirts will also be up for grabs while stocks last.
If you cannot afford this, you may consider making use of the student deduction membership. The amount of R1 300 is deducted from your student account.
If you are looking for the most convenient form of membership, it would the debit order membership. For students, this membership costs R90 per month and thus R1 080 per year.
If you are looking for a more temporary membership option, you may consider joining monthly. (All prizes are only given if stock is available and terms and conditions also apply.)
