Various dignitaries attended the prize giving on 14 October for the Q-photo series of workshops. A photo display was presented, along with an address given by University Registrar, Nick Grové. The ceremony was presided over by Prof Karen Harris. The photographs needed to to be related to Tuks. A brief analysis of each of the finalists’ work was given, along with a justification of what set each of the photographs apart.

The winning photograph was taken by Lourens Swart, who received a R10 000 voucher from Q-photo. The voucher was presented in the form of the traditional comically large cheque.

The tutorials had been conducted on a weekly basis and the participants boasted great improvement in their photography skills. Harris promises that the workshop will achieve even greater heights next year.
