The final quarter saw both sides attempt to maintain their unbeaten record, but it was thanks to the Kovsies rigid defensive duo of the Mosert sisters, Karla and Tanya, that UP-Tuks lost possession of the ball during critical times. Passing errors and interceptions by the defending champions, who also utilised the second power play period to increase their lead, saw the match end 55-41 in Kovsies favour. The bonus point win gives them a four point lead in the log standings, with two rounds left before the knockout stages.

Tuks will hope to finish with a victory as they face NMMU before returning to Pretoria to face the Vaal University of Technology in their final log match, which could possibly secure a top two log finish. UP-Tuks goal shooter Geraldine Odendaal remains optimistic, saying, “The team is really close, which gives us an edge that will hopefully see us continue to perform well.”
