UP veterinary science student wins international photo competition

 Alves’s passion for animals and philanthropic characteristics were evident earlier this August, when he was one of the four vets who resuscitated a baby rhino. The rhino had negatively reacted to a sedative, after being dehorned to degrade its value in order to prevent poaching, which led to an unexpected stop in heartbeat.
