On 6 to 8 October, some of the finest orchestral musicians from the UP School of Arts convened to play the symphonies of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the king of classical music. The Mozart Festival featured a violin and a pianist concerto, and each performance celebrated the beauty of classical music, with its captivating showcase of Mozart’s lesser-known but more dramatic and romantic pieces.
One audience member described the festival as “a very well-performed rendition of Mozart”, while another commented that it had “exceeded their expectations”. Every audience response was filled with praise for the exceptional artistry of the UP School of Arts that brought Mozart to life for many of them. It is clear that each performance was extraordinary and that the festival itself was truly an unforgettable event.
After the festival, PDBY caught up with the festival organisers, who said they were honoured by the audience turnout, as the auditorium was packed. One organiser said, “I am appreciative of the audience, and I think it is great that there are still Mozart lovers out there.” Furthermore, the organiser expressed pleasure that the audience consisted of students.
The UP School of Arts is still active for the remainder of the semester, and those interested in supporting their work should look out for their next orchestral performances to be held later in October
