This coming week, Fire and Fragrance South Africa (FFSA) is coming to Pretoria. FFSA is a community that is based in Potchefstroom. They are dedicated to training and equipping individuals to bring revival and reformation to all spheres of society. Their vision revolves around “trusting God to see a mission’s movement from South Africa sweep across Africa, and from Africa, to see all the nations of the earth impacted by the good news of Jesus”. They do this through a variety of causes, their main one known as a DTS – a discipleship training school.
In 2021, three Primaria from the North-West University (NWU) took a bold step of faith by believing that God would bring a movement to their campus. It was from their leap of faith that “Jesus Night” was born. An FFSA event might carry the same name each time, but you should never expect the same routine. Last week, they kicked off the first Jesus Night with what they call “Jesus Week”. This week was flooded with a series of outreach programmes to various hostels. It also involved local outreach to serve their broader community, and they made numerous visits to local high schools. Some of their work included having insightful conversations about the word of God and offering prayer to those in need. They also created safe spaces for people to encounter Jesus. Their teachings focus on sharing the truth and purpose of the Gospel in order to spread hope and encouragement. To further their mission in South Africa, they purchased the Old Bourbons Building in Potchefstroom, which is currently undergoing renovations. This building housed a popular club, but it is now used for ministry, worship, and training.
In the spaces that FFSA creates, students are encouraged to spend time with and get to know God. People who have questions are welcomed into a space where they can learn and grow. For those who do not know Jesus and want to continue their journey, these events offer a space for people in the hope that it would offer guidance or wisdom to those searching.
Two nights of worship will be hosted at Morula Legae on Hillcrest campus on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. This will be followed by the main event, Jesus Night, on Thursday. This will be held at Shofar Christian Church from 18:00 to 19:30. Registration for the event can be done via the following link: https://lu.ma/udd7z7h1 . They will also be evangelising on Hatfield campus on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon from 14:00 to 16:00 for those who want to join their initiative.
