BEYERS DE VOS

If you were to take a walk on any given afternoon to a certain classroom in the dungeon of the HSB, you might find some interesting things. For example, the squeaky, yet reliable chair you sat on that very morning was now being used for more…exciting activities. Ahem.

But that is just one example of the many secret corners on campus to which young lovers might sneak in between classes (or after hours). This week, we present:

The Top Ten Places to Snog (or Be Snogged):

  1. The dark recesses of the first floor of the library. Preferably amongst the Bibles.
  2. For the romantics: in the centre of the Piazza. After the perfect date and a moonlit stroll through campus. Aaaw.
  3. While dancing in the pond in front of the Old Arts Building. While you’re at it, you might as well mount the statue. You know you want to.
  4. Climb a tree. Any tree.
  5. On the stage in the Masker Theatre. Breaking in is half the fun.
  6. Make your way to the Botany buildings and find the bridge crossing the little stream. If you were planning on having a tender moment, this is the place.
  7. The HSB elevators. Remember that some of them are prone to get stuck. Depending on the quality of the company, this might be a good or a bad thing.
  8. The Aula grass. In the rain.
  9. There is nothing like having campus all to yourself on a warm summer night. But at some point security will be chasing you (yes, we speak from experience). Perdeby found that the best way to get rid of them was to dive into some bushes and let the adrenaline take you where it may.
  10. The bridge to South Campus. At sunrise. Need we say more?
