Tali’s Baby Diary is a follow up of the popular and hilarious mockumentary, Tali’s Wedding Diary. If you have watched the first season, you will know that actress Julia Anastasopoulos (Suzelle DIY), is the beloved main character of the show. After quite a bit of trying, Tali is now pregnant, and wants nothing more in life than to be a ‘momfluencer’.
Follow Tali’s second journey in life to the high-paced, high-drama, emotional responsibility of ‘momfluencing’. Anastasopoulos says that “season 2 is definitely weirder and wilder than Season 1″, because “the comedy stems from how much Tali struggles with pregnancy and motherhood”.
The irony in the show is that influencers are always seen to be perfect, but Tali shows that motherhood is just not like that. Being a mother is much more intense than a wedding, as weddings are one day and it is over. Motherhood is a full-time, life long job, and the creators of this show have built the comedy around such chaos. A fun addition in this season is the appearance of South African comedian, Schalk Bezuidenhout, who adds another layer of hilarity to the show. There are also appearances by actors such as Coconut Kelz, Danny K, Deon Lotz and Siv Ngesi throughout the season. If this is anything like Tali’s Wedding Diary, viewing records will be broken and more SAFTAs are on their way. The show aired on Showmax on 26 February and the final six episodes will be available on 12 March. If you enjoy over-the-top comedy, give it a watch. It is going to be ‘amazeballs’.
