MAHMOODA MILANZIE Gender-based violence (GBV) is currently one of the most serious and notorious crimes in South Africa. Awareness about this systemic problem continues to grow as more women come forward to share their stories. According to News24, the rate of femicide in South Africa is reported to be exceedingly high, with levels reaching five times higher than the global average.
