Form and Function, Part 1 – Gangs of Ballet

by PDBY Staff | Nov 5, 2015 | Entertainment

“Nylon” employs a slow jazz and R&B influence in its production, while “I can hear you” is an upbeat song that seems made for dancing. The track “Seven” utilises an irregular tempo for its production, but it keeps the song interesting and the listener entertained. The lyrics, however, do not live up to the standard of the lyrics on the other songs on the EP, making it seem bland in comparison.

Form and Function, Part 1 is a short collection of songs that has enough bright moments to keep the listener entertained, but some lacklustre lyrics and an overall lack of cohesion in terms of genre and production keeps the EP from being great. Despite this, Gangs of Ballet have set up a good platform that will hopefully be developed in the second installation of their EP set.
